The JLAW Group are a team of business investors in the Facilitation and Cleaning services industry with relevant experience in both owning and running businesses.

With more than 80 combined years of experience between the 3 directors, there is a high level of experience that is put to good use in building a property facilities and commercial and residential services group.

Martin Wilkinson

Technical Director

Martin’s entrepreneurial experience has provided him with an expansive knowledge of the business world. This experience has led Martin to work in a number of industries with the ability to adapt. Martin originally started his career in the motor industry and he soon had his own specialist garage that he run for 8 years before selling as a going concern.  He then moved into the telecoms and data industry project managing multi-million-pound projects for major banks likes Morgan Stanley and JP Morgan.  This evolved into a project management position with Gap Gemini a large company that carried out all the HMRC online projects nationwide.

Not one to stand still the entrepreneur in Martin decided it was time to become self-employed. He collaborated with a colleague and pushed himself to understand the building industry, it was Martin who saw the need to acquire businesses rather than attempting to build a construction business from the ground. Martin has knowledge in telecoms, data, digital marketing, the building industry and much more. His entrepreneurial drive is a key reason why he has been given the role of Technical director, it is his experience and the ability to adapt and learn new skills that the team believe are an ideal fit to fulfil the role.

Joanne Stevens

Business Development Director

Joanne is an FCA with over 20 years’ experience ranging from partner in a 15 partner, 100 people independent practice in Essex to consultant strategic and finance director to multi-million turnover businesses in various industries including property facilities management and commercial and residential cleaning.

Joanne Stevens is an expert at driving the strategic direction of companies, building business exit strategies, ensuring robust financial and operating business structures and creating high performing teams.

Joanne has assisted business owners achieve multi-million business sales and is now applying this knowledge to The JLAW group.

Wayne Freebody

Operations Director

Wayne’s decades of experience in the in the cleaning & facilities maintenance sector is vital in ensuring our companies operate efficiently and maintain the high standard of working practice that is the heart of our ethos.

Wayne’s extensive knowledge of the cleaning and facilities industry dates back to starting his burgeoning career in 2018 with a ladder and a bucket and following his key values of integrity and honesty he gained extensive experience in a number of different cleaning sectors that included window cleaning, carpet cleaning, oven cleaning and end of tenancy void cleans. Wayne then adapted his services and for a number of years focused on offering specialist exterior cleaning.

In recent years Wayne’s business has continued to grow and diversified into the facilities maintenance offering reactive maintenance to housing associations and councils and has grown to such that the company is operating a turnover of £2 million a year.

Wayne’s huge knowledge and experience in the industry is paramount for the acquisition of cleaning and facilitation companies and this is the key reason for his position of Lead Operation Director, joining forces with Joanne Stevens and Martin Wilkinson make’s the JLAW Group Ltd a formidable force in our desire to build a group of companies that operate at a very high standard and with a working practice that is the heart of the JLAW Group ethos.

Our mission

JLAW Group is targeting the purchase of 3 to 5 service businesses each year.

This will allow the JLAW Group to grow quickly and take advantage of the economies of scale and implement a strong management team and an excellent management structure. By targeting businesses in the supply chain JLAW will be able to manage and improve margins for businesses acquired.

Beyond 2024, JLAW Group will expand the scope of businesses to cover all aspects of the servicing industry, including larger commercial contracts for further economies of scale.
